Logan Martin Lake is located on the Coosa River in east-central Alabama approximately 30 miles east of Birmingham. This 17,000-acre reservoir was built in 1965 by Alabama Power Company. Nicknamed "Lake of a Thousand Coves," Logan Martin has 275 miles of shoreline along its 48.5-mile length sandwiched between Logan Martin Dam on the south and Neely Henry Dam on the north. With some of the nation's finest bass fishing, Lake Logan Martin also offers fun for boating, waterskiing, and swimming.
(Alabama has a lake of a similar name, Lake Martin on the Tallapoosa River, but Lake Martin and Logan Martin Lake are not part of the same river system.)
The Back Porch Grill is highly recommended by locals, for their excellent food and service. The Back Porch specializes in seafood but offers lots of other items on their menu. Outdoor seating is available with a beautiful view of the lake.
